Montaña es un poemario en el que he estado trabajando durante los últimos diez meses. Hoy, 11 de Agosto de 2020, a aproximadamente las 2:00 am, hora de Caracas, ha sido culminado con éxito.
Desde el comienzo, este compendio de versos fue pensado para ser compartido de manera gratuita a través de varios canales (Instagram, Facebook, entre otros), cada vez con base en este blog; es decir, desde aquí se ha hecho la publicación original del poemario y solo aquí se encontrarán publicados de manera permanente los respectivos "botones" (links) de descarga directa para su adquisición.
Lo que me permite compartir sin costo alguno el producto de mi pasión son 1) la naturaleza de su presentación y 2) el medio por el cual llega a usted, lector. No se requiere demasiada experticia hoy en día para empaquetar contenido en un documento digital de tipo PDF y subsecuentemente compartirlo por las redes sociales y otros sitios (¡Bendito seas, Internet!). De haber costeado una tirada de impresos, me habría sido imposible regalar el poemario, asi como me es imposible costear una tirada de impresos en primer lugar.
Los cuatro archivos PDF se encuentran alojados en los servidores de Google a través de su servicio Google Drive y los links en cada caso fueron recortados y semipersonalizados usando el servicio brindado por Bitly, Inc. (www.bitly.com).
La razón de que existan cuatro archivos es simple: existen dos ediciones del mismo poemario, una en inglés y otra en español (La mayoría de los poemas incluidos nacieron originalmente en español). Entre ambas existen muy pocas diferencias de contenido y aspecto, pero las hay. Mi aspiración es que el lector pueda disfrutar con igual lucidez ambas ediciones, descubriendo poco a poco, en lo que se ve y en lo que se lee, lo que es particular en cada una.
Al mismo tiempo que existen dos ediciones, existen también dos versiones de cada una de ellas: una en calidad completa (más pesada) y otra en calidad comprimida (más liviana). Así, el número total de archivos disponibles es, como se dijo, de cuatro. Cada uno puede ser descargado individualmente de acuerdo al capricho del lector desde los botones de descarga ubicados más abajo. Estos links son absolutamente directos: no están monetizados ni redireccionan a ningún lugar.

This has been a literary endeavor I've been through during the last ten months or so and now it is finally finished; it has crystalized. My first book of original poems has been completed on August 11th of the year 2020, at 2:00 am (Caracas time).
Since the very beginning, my intention has been to release this book as a lightweight e-book, readily downloadable completely for free via one single and simple link posted only on this blog of mine. I would then make it circulate around a little through my Instagram and Facebook accounts (mainly), so a few people would know it exists and that it costs nothing to acquire, so they might feel interested in reading it.
As I said, this is an e-book, it is lightweight and it is free, but it is ONLY AVAILABLE as a PDF file, meaning it currently exists only in PDF form. Needless to state the obvious (yet I’m gonna…), there’s no printed version of it on the face of the Earth. Yeah, there's nothing like holding a physical book in your hands, especially as its author, but printing even the dullest book is not cheap, therefore, copies of it end up being not cheap as well. This digital era thing is the best option for me, as of now. I could not tell if I will bring an EPUB version of it anytime in the future. It is possible.
As you will notice below, Mountain comes not only in English but in español as well (yes, we do not capitalize ethnicity nor languages). Both editions are vastly similar, with minor content variations throughout the book once you compare them. I would suggest checking both if you can cope with both languages; it would simply be a more enriching experience as a reader. It is worth telling that most of the poems in Mountain were born originally in Spanish.
Besides being available in two different languages, Mountain comes also in two different weight versions: a full quality version (exported as a PDF at the maximum quality possible), which weighs around 15 megabytes, and a less quality version (obtained by compressing the full quality version), which weighs around 7 megabytes. In total, four different PDF files have been made available for the reader to download.
File hosting comes courtesy of Google (all files have been uploaded to Google servers using Google Drive), and the shortened links of Bitly, Inc. (www.bitly.com). These are all simple, fully direct download links with no redirections, detours, or annoying monetizations to them; straight as hell.
